New work, one-offs, random thoughts, and things that didn’t make the cut

Beanstock “snap”
It would be nice if rebrands unfolded in an orderly, planned fashion… each step building off the considered, and completed step before it, until you landed on the final product and unveiled it to the world.
When Beanstock Coffee got the chance to do a collaboration with Element Beverages, however, we decided to go a little off-script and try to anticipate where the rebrand we are working on might be going.
The first step was a name. I came up with “Snap” because of it’s obvious connection to the fact that it’s a snapchilled beverage, but also because it felt tonally aligned with their canned cold-brew “Oomph!”.
Next was the design exploration. I developed a series of looks that connected with their current look on one end of the spectrum, and explored some new territory on the other end. The beverage is a light, fruity, snapchilled coffee beverage, and I wanted to try to capture that essence in the design.
The result is a design that will stand out on the shelves, and gives a glimpse of things to come for the Beanstock brand.
Bicara Therapeutics website
A few comps for the Bicara Therapeutics website. One of the interesting aspects of my job is immersing myself in industries that I have little or no experience. Sometimes having a client explain things to me like I’m 4 helps us both get to clear understanding of the fundamentals that need to be communicated.
Linkables Explainer Video
A fun little explainer video I did years ago for a startup named Linkables.
Abine Times Ad
When Facebook went public a few years back I had the opportunity to do a full page ad in the Times for an online privacy company called Abine. It generated some great awareness, some impressive clicks, and I think it even won an award or two.
HOLLAND-MARK REBRAND
Classy and modern, this identity rebrand for boutique branding agency Holland-Mark was a beautiful step forward… Still my all-time favorite t-shirt.
