Robert Beverly Hale
In prep for my anatomy class I've begun watching the lectures of Robert Beverly Hale. I have about 20 hours of lectures lent to me by a friend. I'm about 4 hours in.
This gentleman was such a class act. In addition to his depth of knowledge (He was a drawing and anatomy teacher for many years at the Art Student's League and Curator Emeritis of American Paintings at the Met) he seems to so fluidly navigate the material that even his jokes, anecdotes and tangents have a sense of carrying us along proper direction rather than hindering the storyline. He must have done this so many times to be able to pull it all off.
I also think his accent and word choice mark him so clearly as a creature from another time—one that seems a bit more refined and romantic than ours.
